Abortion Legislation Bill — In Committee — Part 2 — Commissioner may investigate breaches

Summary

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Abortion Legislation Bill by inserting new clauses 16A and 16B, which give the Health and Disability Commissioner a mandate to investigate contraventions of the regulations that govern the provision of abortion services under the Contraception, Sterilisation, and Abortion Act 1977 and the Crimes Act 1961.

The question was put that the amendment set out on Supplementary Order Paper 470 in the name of the Hon Alfred Ngaro to insert new clauses 16A and 16B be agreed to.
